Our work is to establish and conserve permanent native woodland in Ireland, encouraging land regeneration and biodiversity. What inspired you to work with Hometree?
The launch of the Woodland Suite Experience wasn't just about creating a luxurious escape. It was about creating a sanctuary that fosters a deeper connection with nature.  We wanted this haven to reflect our eco ambitions, and that's where Hometree came in. Our Green Leaf Programme outlines the internal environmental program at The Montenotte, with a clear list of deliverables to encourage the reduction of carbon footprint and promote sustainability across the operation. As part of our commitment, we strive to achieve sound environmental practices across our entire operation, and we feel it aligns very well with the work completed by Hometree.

You will not see some of the trees you are planting reach maturity, what has inspired such a long term vision?
Hometree's mission to establish and conserve permanent native woodlands in Ireland directly aligns with our vision.  As we move forward as an urban resort with integrity, we believe it's crucial to contribute positively to our local community and the environment we call home. That is what truly matters, even if it means not witnessing some of the trees reach maturity.

Have there been any key moments you can share about how you or your organisation decided to support a more abundant and healthier world?
Yes, the launch of the Woodland Suite Experience was a pivotal moment for The Montenotte. We envisioned it as more than just a new accommodation offering; it was an opportunity to redefine the concept of an urban resort in Ireland. We wanted to create a space that embodied "rebellious luxury" – a fusion of unparalleled comfort with a commitment of helping the world.

We currently have an internal Green Team who meet every 2 weeks to report and action all green opportunities for the hotel to provide all employees with the training and resources required to meet our objectives, as part of their induction and monthly training. Instead of offering a generic sustainability checklist, we wanted our guests to actively participate in this journey.

Ambition, passion, integrity, and courage. The launch of the Woodland Suite Experience has been a journey of discovery. Yes, we wanted to create a luxurious escape, but it also became about creating a space that fosters a deeper connection with nature. This desire to be more than just an accommodation led us to partner with Hometree, an organisation dedicated to establishing permanent native woodlands in Ireland.
