Our work is to establish and conserve permanent native woodland in Ireland, encouraging land regeneration and biodiversity. What inspired you to work with Hometree?
L’OCCITANE have always operated in such a way that natural resources are respected and not overtaken from nature. In Provence, where the company was born and the majority of ingredients are sourced, we work very closely with producers to guarantee sustainability and traceability of all ingredients. It has always been in our DNA to encourage regeneration and biodiversity.
As the business has grown, we felt the need to expand these Corporate Social Responsibilities worldwide to make more robust efforts in Respecting Biodiversity (one of L’OCCITANE’s commitments) and to support land regeneration worldwide. In Ireland, Hometree’s huge positive impact on land regeneration and conservation, education, and community involvement, matches L’OCCITANE’s values and makes them the perfect charity to collaborate locally in Respecting Biodiversity in Ireland.

You will not see some of the trees you are planting reach maturity, what has inspired such a long term vision?
Our philosophy is not about immediate return, but about the legacy we leave behind us.
We strive to support various causes in the communities we operate to give the right tools to make meaningful and transformational change for a better world. L’OCCITANE’s commitments are all based on the company’s mission; ‘With empowerment we positively impact people and regenerate nature.’

Have there been any key moments you can share about how you or your organisation decided to support a more abundant and healthier world?
The brand could support the world even more after the creation of L’OCCITANE Foundation in 2006. L’OCCITANE founder Olivier Baussan has always been amazed by nature, the exceptional properties of plants, and the incredible powers of their active ingredients. It was only natural that a commitment to protecting nature and the people who surround it would emerge. As the brand has developed, the founder’s values have remained key to L’OCCITANE and with the establishment of the L’OCCITANE Foundation, efforts became more abundant, structured, and impactful for a better world for all.

The power of teamwork is unbeatable Proof of this is the involvement of all our members and correspondents for the L’OCCITANE Foundation that are behind each commitment to make them a positive impact. Leave a legacy We don’t take actions expecting immediate results. We take actions thinking in building a better future to all.
